Bishwajit Goswami is a Bangladeshi artist and educator. He was born in Netrokona in 1981. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka, in 2008 and went on to receive a master’s degree from Visva Bharati, Santiniketan. Among important residencies, he was invited to visit the Yunnan Arts University, China, in 2016 and then Austria in 2017.
Goswami’s curatorial debut at the 18th Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh met with success. He is the founder of Brihatta, a research-based, artist-run platform, with a strong focus on community development and collaboration among young artists. He has exhibited in several international forums, such as the Dhaka Art Summit, the Asian Art Biennale of Bangladesh, the Beijing International Art Biennale, the Setouchi Triennial Japan, among others. His works have been widely exhibited.
Notable among his awards are the 16th Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh, the National Young Artist Award and the Elizabeth Greenshield Foundation Award, Canada.
